i hope i can help. lets start at the beginning. when you unzip most downloads you should get a runtime folder in the unzipped files this you move to the folder of your poser program. doing this should automatically put the files in the right folders if they were filed right in the first place. some times the files are not sorted into the right folders but dumped into one. in poser you have nine types of files. first is the object file obj. this is main file used for a model and its put in the geometries sub folder of the runtime folder the rest are in the libraries sub folder.
in this folder the different types of files are in the folder of the same name. the .cr2 (character),.fc2(face), .hr2(hair), .hd2(hand), .lt2(light), .pz2(pose), .pp2(props), cm2(camera) these are the same folders offered in the pose room of poser. one thing you might want to keep track of is that in poser when open a folder say props it will only show the files with that extension (.pp2). so if you put a .cr2 file in props or any folder other than character it will now show the the file window. lastly you have texture files these are usually .jpeg or .bmp and are put in the texture folder.

to load a model into the pose room you only have to double click on the pic in the open folder.

many clothes can be made to move with the figure by using the conform to command in the figure drop down menu

when it come to saved poses you can never have to many. when you get a pose you like save it in to your pose library by first selecting the character whose pose you want to save then clicking the little plus sign at the bottom of the folder bar( it will say add to library when you have the mouse over it) when you find free pose set for characters even if it for a character you dont have don't be afraid to get it often poses for one character (like aiko) can work for another character (like james) with little or no problems. i have fond that one of four thing happen when you do this. 1 the pose works like it suppose to. 2 the pose works but you have to tweak it a bit(move a arm or leg a pit) but its close to what its suppose to look like 3 the character is twisted in a knot that would make a contortionist cry. or 4 nothing happens the most time is spent posing the characters than anything else so the more saved poses you have quicker you can move on to other aspects of the peace. the pz2 files are really small (just a few kilobits) so you wont have to worry about them taking up space.

one last thing when moving a human figure in poser if you want to move the legs you have to move the fee. say you want to have Krystal's foot in a chair you would have to move her foot up and forward to get the leg to bend right.
